Deutsche Eiche

One of Munich’s best-known gay bathhouses, attached to the historic Deutsche Eiche hotel in the heart of the city. Facilities include a whirlpool, Finnish sauna, steam room, two darkrooms, a small cinema, and a basement cruising labyrinth with open and closed cabins. Entry is on the pricier side (€26.50–28.50; under 30s get in for €18). Our experience was mixed: on a public holiday evening it was dirty and the crowd was underwhelming — though that may well have been down to the occasion. Saturday afternoons are quiet until around 3pm. Worth a try on a regular weekend evening, but manage your expectations and maybe check conditions beforehand.
